Zyriab – Musiche della tradizione arabo/andalusa
On August 29th, 2023, an evening full of emotions awaits you in Gratteri, a real immersion in the suggestive atmosphere that comes from Arab/Andalusian music: the historic Abbazia di San Giorgio will come alive with lights and live music thanks to the Zyriab – Musiche della tradizione arabo/andalusa event (Zyriab: Musiche della tradizione arabo/andalusa); an event promoted by the Municipality of Gratteri, under the patronage of the Regional Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment, for an evening in the name of the magic of a musical genre that was born in Spain but is now appreciated worldwide.
For the occasion, the Ensemble Antonio il Verso will perform these enchanting melodies after an afternoon dedicated to the discovery of the Abbey. The event will start at 17:00, when all those who wish to take part to the event will gather at Piazza Scala. From here it is scheduled to walk to the Abbey at 18:00 and take part to the guided tour; the ones who can not walk to the site, instead, can benefit from the shuttles set up for this purpose.
At the end of the guided tour, the guests can relax with a pleasant aperitif starting at 19:00, the perfect time to enjoy the sunset-coloured panorama. Finally, at 20:00, the Ensemble will begin to entertain the audience with live music, by bringing them to another era and to another culture.
And if you want to continue to discover the beauty of the Madonita village, do not forget to attend the event that will be held in Gratteri the following day — the unmissable Gratteri Sunset Festival, the free event with aperitif at sunset and live music that will make you fall in love even more with the village.
The concert is part of the professional activities in the field of live entertainment under the resources of the Single Fund for Performing Arts (FUS) in the peripheral areas of the Municipality of Palermo and the Metropolitan City of Palermo.
